How we organise your kitten’s journey

Assistance, transport and international formalities

Depending on the destination, several options may be considered:

  • air transport (cargo) with a specialised airline;
  • in-cabin accompaniment by a trusted escort;
  • travel of the adopting family to the cattery.

Each project is assessed individually in order to choose the most suitable solution for the destination country, while ensuring the comfort, safety and well-being of the kitten.

Whenever possible, we share photos and messages during the trip, so that families can follow their kitten’s journey home.

From reservation to arrival

The adoption process

The adoption of a Siberian kitten includes selecting the kitten, receiving photos and videos, signing a reservation contract with a deposit, and preparing all veterinary and travel documents.

We organise safe and professional transport depending on the destination country. The kitten then joins its new family in France or abroad. We provide full support throughout the whole process, from reservation to arrival.

General conditions for travel

What every departure requires

  • minimum age of the kitten, usually 12 to 15 weeks depending on the country;
  • mandatory vaccinations up to date, especially rabies;
  • European pet passport, if departing from the EU;
  • microchip identification;
  • health certificate issued by a veterinarian.

Some countries have strict import regulations, and quarantine may be required depending on the destination. The kitten’s health, safety and welfare are always the top priority during transport.

It is essential to check the specific import rules and veterinary requirements of the destination country before travel.

Delivery costs: what to expect

Depending on the destination and the transport

The cost depends on the destination country and the chosen transport method.

For cargo transport, the price is calculated by the airline and usually includes the purchase of an approved travel crate.

For transport accompanied by a courier in the cabin, costs include the airline ticket and a daily allowance of €150 for each day required for the journey.

International transport costs may be higher because of airline fees, veterinary procedures and administrative formalities.

Rabies vaccination and antibody titer test

Vaccinations and travel documents

Rabies vaccination is mandatory for the international transport of a Siberian kitten. Some countries also require additional treatments or documents; for example, Scandinavian countries generally require an antiparasitic treatment before the kitten enters their territory.

The rabies antibody titer test (serological titration) is a blood analysis that measures the level of antibodies against rabies. It confirms that the animal has developed sufficient immunity after vaccination.

This test is often required by import regulations, for example in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, in some cases in the United Kingdom, Ireland and the United Arab Emirates, depending on the country of origin.

For China, a double rabies vaccination and a rabies antibody titer test are required; the test must be carried out at least three months after vaccination. These procedures involve additional costs, calculated separately.

Our cattery assists families with all the veterinary and administrative requirements for the international travel of their future kitten.

Minimum age for international travel

Around 3.5 to 4 months

  • minimum 12 weeks for the first rabies vaccination;
  • 21 days of waiting after vaccination.

In practice, the earliest realistic age for international travel is around 15 weeks, that is 3.5 to 4 months, and sometimes older depending on the country.

How can I reserve a Siberian kitten?

It marks the beginning of a beautiful journey and allows the kitten to be reserved until the day it joins its new family.

The first contact can be made by e-mail, by WhatsApp (+33 7 76 15 58 10) or via Facebook Messenger.
